RANDALL FOR SHERIFF

Experience · Leadership · Commitment · Integrity

Get to Know Mike Randall

My name is Mike Randall, and I grew up in Ironwood Township. I graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1999 and earned an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections from Gogebic Community College in 2001.

In the summer of 2001, I attended the Police Recruit School at Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. I graduated that same year and received the academy’s Scholastic Achievement Award for having the highest test scores in my class.

On January 1, 2002, I was hired by the Iron County Sheriff’s Office under Sheriff Robert Bruneau as a Jailer/Dispatcher. Over the years, I worked my way through the ranks, holding nearly every position in the office. I now serve as Chief Deputy and appointed Undersheriff under Sheriff Paul Samardich.

I have lived in Iron County since 2002. I first lived in the City of Hurley and, for the last 16 years, I have called the Town of Kimball home.

My wife, Amy, and I have been married for 23 years. We have two children, Joshua (20) and Kate (15).

While raising our children, I have volunteered as a coach for baseball, softball, and basketball, and I have assisted with Hunter and ATV safety courses. I take pride in working with our youth and being a positive role model.

I have been a volunteer firefighter for 28 years. I completed my firefighter certification and training as a senior in high school and have continued to serve while working full-time and raising a family. I am currently a member of the Hurley Fire Department.

In my spare time, I enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening. Most summers, you can find me out on my boat, fishing the many great lakes we have here in Iron County. I’ve also started growing pumpkins and am now in my second year of growing giant pumpkins.
